Awesome local place to stay! Rooms are cute and comfortable, there’s tables outside in a courtyard and you’re right around the corner from a coffee shop, stores and a few restaurants. There’s a microwave and water in the lobby and fridge in your room. The front desk was very kind and had an iron and ironing board available for me to use.

There’s a microwave and water in the lobby and fridge in your room. The front desk was very kind and had an iron and ironing board available for me to use. If staff aren’t present, just give them a call. They’re here in the day but it’s just you and other guests at night. Checking in and out is easy, just use the code they provide in the email and you have access to your room. Check out you just leave by 10 or 11am. I don’t have cable at home, so it was nice to watch tv in comfy bed after a fun filled day, loads of channels. Only thing I’d recommend is they have lamps with power outlets or charging ports. We had to move the plug for the fridge and charge one phone at a time. Not a huge deal at all, just a thought.

I'm writing this review a little late! We stayed here 1.5 years ago and also 12 years ago. We absolutely love this little hotel. Clean, quiet, easy to access room info upon arriving. It's nothing fancy, but it's comfortable, clean, and safe. We love Hawi, so it's an easy decision to stay here when we return to the Big Island. I lived in Hawi as a child and I love returning to visit. I pray Kohala Village Inn never closes its doors because we need places like this to stay (I don't believe there's another hotel or motel up north and I don't generally like staying at AirBnBs anymore). So, please never close! :)

Location is perfect and you can just walk into town. Plus your only a few miles to some very gorgeous beaches and trails. We loved our short time here in historic Kohala and plan to come back and stay longer. Mahalo
